  • RABBI LEVY WINEBERG: YUD TES KISLEV FARBRENGEN & DINNER

    Monday, December 16 | 6:00 pm
  • On the 19th of Kislev, founder of the Chabad movement Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi was freed from his imprisonment in czarist Russia. The date therefore marks the "birth" of Chassidism: the day it was allowed to emerge from the womb of mysticism into the light of day, to grow and develop as an integral part of Torah and Jewish life. Join world-renowned lecturer, Rabbi Levy Wineberg.

  • YUD SHVAT - A DAY OF TWO REBBES

  • On 10 Shevat, the sixth Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn, passed away. One year later in 1951, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson accepted leadership of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement. From that day on, the Rebbe set about transforming world Jewry.

  • YUD ALEPH NISSAN: A TRIBUTE TO THE REBBE

  • Throughout his leadership, the Rebbe marked his birthday by redoubling his efforts to reach out to Jews in every corner of the world. Let us do the same. In honor of the 11th of Nissan, the anniversary of the Rebbe’s birth, invite a friend to a farbrengen. Let’s understand the Rebbe’s directives, share heartfelt song, soulful stories, and enjoy some "farbeisen."

  • YUD BEIS TAMMUZ: A DAY OF LIBERATION

  • On the 12th of Tammuz of 1927, the sixth Lubavitcher rebbe, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneersohn, was officially granted release from his sentence of exile to Kastroma in the interior of Russia.

Twenty-seven days earlier, the Rebbe had been arrested by agents of the GPU and the Yevsektzia ("Jewish Section" of the Communist Party) for his activities to preserve Judaism throughout the Soviet empire and sentenced to death, G-d forbid. International pressure forced the Soviets to commute the sentence to exile and, subsequently, to release him completely. The actual release took place on Tammuz 13, and Tammuz 12-13 is celebrated as a "festival of liberation" by the Chabad-Lubavitch community. Join us as we share heartfelt song, soulful stories, L'Chaim and enjoy some "farbeisen."
