As temperatures soared into the mid-90s, three sisters offered ice-cold kosher lemonade made with fresh lemons on Australian Avenue between South County Road and Hibiscus Avenue to benefit charity.
Mirel, 5; Rivka, 7; and two-year-old Rochel Levitin sold water, lemonade and chocolate-chip cookies to passers-by on foot, in cars and on bicycles.
The children plan to send $25, a little more than a fifth of their earnings, to the Colel Chabad in Israel, an organization that cares for Israel’s needy, including children who are hospitalized and can not go to camp — so camp is brought to them.
“With the rest of the profits, the girls plan to buy doll furniture for their doll and maybe even save a little for their next business venture,” says their mother, Hindel Levitin, rebbitzin at Chabad of Northern Palm Beach Island, formerly the Palm Beach Jewish Center.
