Women who participate in Caffeine for the Soul get more than coffee and homemade pastries.
The class, held Mondays outside Starbucks at 150 Worth Ave., offers Jewish women a chance to learn, to be challenged and to spiritually grow. The venue is relaxed but the Torah lesson is intense.
Women who participate say it energizes their spiritual life by offering practical, down-to-earth lessons, with a kabbalistic view that they can think about all week long.
“You can’t start your week if you don’t come here ... it starts your week off on a positive note,” says Alikki Walker. “It’s perfect for me.”
The classes are based on Chabad Chassidic philosophy, as taught by the Chabad-Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneersohn. “Chabad Chassidus makes everything past applicable to today and that is what we all enjoy,” says teacher and Rebbetzin Hindel Levitin of Chabad of North Palm Beach Island.
The women stressed the importance of doing a mitzvah (good deed) and making the time to participate in Torah study.
