Shabbat cooking — Jewish women can learn how to create a Shabbat dinner of hearty foods, from fish to chicken soup to desserts, next Thursday in the party room at Sloan’s Curve, 2100 S. Ocean Blvd., says Rebbetzin Hindel Levitin. “Discover why certain foods are eaten specifically on Shabbat. Sample the recipes.”

Levitin will give a cooking demonstration, and professional pastry chef Karen Comin will give a hands-on demonstration.

The event is sponsored by the Jewish Women’s Circle of Palm Beach, which is a project of Chabad of Northern Palm Beach Island directed by Rabbi Zalman and Levitin.

Each woman will go home with a cookbook that includes Levitin’s recipes. R.S.V.P. by calling 659-3884 or emailing [email protected]. The cost is $18. For information on the Chabad, see palmbeachjewish.com.
