Cantorial Shabbat — The guest cantor coming to Chabad of Northern Palm Beach Island was hailed as child prodigy, singing at synagogues in Montreal and recording his first album at age 12.

Ari Klein will highlight Shabbat services at 6 p.m. Jan. 24 at The Chabad House, 361 S. County Road, followed by Shabbat dinner. Services on Jan. 25 start at 9:30 a.m., followed by kiddish lunch.

Klein’s versatile repertoire includes Hasidic soul, classical traditional and popular music.

In 2006, Klein founded the New York School of Voice and Cantorial Training. He lives in New York with his wife, Lauren, and their children. Most recently, the cantor served the Park East Synagogue.

Manners and more — Children learned from Patricia Champier how to use flatware, sit at a table, use a napkin, handle a spill and eat spaghetti at the Etiquette Class for Kids on Jan. 2 on Worth Avenue.

Youngsters in their Sunday best turned out for the class, which was presented by Chabad of Northern Palm Beach Island and hosted at MacKenzie-Childs. Rebbetzin Hindel Levitin taught the children to eat kosher, make a blessing on different types of food, give coins to charity before food preparation, pray and more.
