Lag B’Omer holiday — Chabad of Northern Palm Beach Island recently commemorated Lag B’Omer with Family Brunch on the Beach at Phipps Ocean Park.

The holiday — the 33rd day of the Omer — is the anniversary of the death of sage and mystic Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, author of the Zohar, the foundation for Kabbalah and Jewish mysticism.

In addition to food grilled outdoors, there were crafts and entertainment. Rabbi Zalman Levitin discussed the importance of the holiday.
