A Mega Challah Bake will take place at 7 p.m. Monday at the West Palm Beach Marriott, 1001 Okeechobee Blvd., led by rebbetzins from 11 Chabad centers.

The evening will feature more than kneading and braiding. There will be presentations on the power of the Jewish women; more than 350 women baking challah together from scratch; challah meditation by Rebbetzin Shaina Stolik of Chabad of South Palm Beach; a blessing on the dough by three generations of women (Diane Goot, and Debbie, Shaina and Sydney Pincus); the Rosh Hashanah prayer Avinu Malkeinu (“Our Father, Our King”); and music and dessert.

“Everyone will have their own ingredients and bowl and use the same traditional challah recipe,” said Hindel Levitin, rebbetzin at Chabad of Northern Palm Beach Island, who will demonsrate challah braiding.

Rebbetzin Chaya Gancz, who got the project off the ground, will give a baking demonstration, and Rebbetzin Leah Rosenfeld will give the keynote address.

Young singers on the program are MiaBeth Gorodetzer, Rivka Levitin, Emily Mandell, Margo Mandell, Kayla Esther Polokoff, Vida Sapojnikova and Becky Slonimski, while concert singers are Kineret Yasgur and Sharon Leibovici Alcalay, said Levitin, who organized the music and concert program.

To attend the challah bake, email [email protected] or visit thechallahevent.com. The cost is $25.
