Chassidic tradition — Chabad of Northern Palm Beach Island will celebrate the birth of Chassidus at 7 p.m. Wednesday with a farbrengen (chassidic gathering) and festive dinner at the Brazilian Court hotel. Rabbi Chay Amar will officiate.
The anniversary recognizes the date the founder of the Chabad movement, Rabbi Schneur Zalman of Liadi (1745-1812), was freed from prison in Czarist Russia.
“For more than two centuries, Chassidim participate in such gatherings to lighten their souls’ burdens, and share insights and practical ideas. A farbrengen can profoundly affect your life,” says Rabbi Zalman Levitin, spiritual leader of The Chabad House.
Amar is a business and relationship skills presenter, author and adviser. He speaks five languages, earned his degree in philosophy and languages at Aix-les-Bains University in France, and completed his rabbinical studies in England and Israel.
