Hundreds of people joined for Hanukkah celebrations on the island last week.

About 400 people came out to Bradley Park for Sunday’s annual town celebration, hosted by Palm Beach Synagogue, Temple Emanu-El, the New Synagogue of Palm Beach, and Temple Beth El and Temple Israel in West Palm Beach.

On Thursday, about the same size crowd gathered for “Chanukah on Worth” at the Town Hall Square, 361 S. County Road, hosted by The Chabad House on Palm Beach.

Mayor Gail Coniglio and Town Council members attended both celebrations, which highlighted unity in the wake of the recent Pittsburgh synagogue shooting.

“The community understood that we have to come together and focus on what we share rather than what divides us,” said Chabad House Rebbetzin Hindel Levitin. “We all have a small piece of heaven within us to nurture and grow.”
